Expert System for Diagnosing Areca Plant Diseases Using the Certainty Factor Method

Areca nut is a plant that cultivated by the people of Papua as means livelihood. has many benefits, starting from fruit, leaves, roots, and economic value betel also quite good. The problem often encountered areca cultivators damage caused diseases, causing losses both in terms yield control. In this study, expert system for diagnosing diseases uses Certainty Factor method, essence method to measure whether it certain or uncertain disease based on type symptoms found plants, there are 8 types namely spotting yellowing, red leaf rust, stem base rot, fruit shoot root flower fall stunted plants. With problems occur, researchers will create an can help palm hoped applying which adopts knowledge into computerized so solve like expert.
